DelMontis is a musical collaboration between singer/pianist Frank Montis (known for his work with Laura Vane & The Vipertones) and saxophonist/arranger Rolf Delfos (known for his involvement with The Houdini’s). Both gentlemen met through their collaboration in the Nu-Jazz ensemble, The Jazzinvaders, and plans for DelMontis quickly took shape. Augmented into a sextet with talented musicians of various backgrounds, a fusion emerged, blending Montis’ songs with Delfos’ horn arrangements, with a primary focus on achieving a harmonious combination of rich grooves, transparent melodies, and musical freedom.
